FCRA/Obtaining a Credit Report

NTN obtains, interprets and explains credit reports. In other words, we make them work.

There are three national credit bureaus. Regionally throughout the U.S., the "dominant" bureau tends to have the most complete information on applicants. NTN helps you select the "dominant" bureau for your area.

All credit bureaus have restrictions on credit access. A credit report can only be obtained for a lawful or "permissible purpose" (such as property rental) and only with the applicant's written permission. There also are additional rules of which your credit provider will make you aware.

While a vital part of the screening process, most credit reports are coded making it difficult to interpret when received directly from the bureau. NTN provides you with an easy-to-read report format, educates you about proper use and reinforces the absolute need for security of this sensitive consumer data.

Credit reports contain details of an individual's credit history including:

These details help corroborate application information and improve eviction screening quality.
